For this pizza you can buy a premade crust, buy a premixed dough mix, or make your own homemade. For me, it all just depends on how much time I have or how much effort I want to put forth. I’ll put a couple links in the notes to get to my homemade pizza crust and my homemade tomato basil sauce.
Ingredients:
- Pizza crust
- Tomato basil pizza sauce
- Bacon – cooked and broken up
- Roma Tomato – chopped
- Lettuce – chopped or torn
- Mayonnaise (My favorite is Japanese Kewpie)
Directions:
- If making your own crust, I suggest precooking it in a 450 degree F oven for about 7 minutes, or until it just starts to brown. But that is a personal preference and not absolutely necessary. If you bought one of those nice premade crusts, you won’t have to worry about it either way.
- Cook about 10 – 8 strips of bacon for one pizza or a whole package for 2 pizzas. I cook my bacon in the oven at 400 degrees F on a foil covered baking sheet for about 25 minutes or until it is a little crispy.
- Spread the tomato basil sauce on the crust – however much you like on yours
- Break up the bacon and sprinkle it on – again, as much as you like.
- Bake in the 450 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until you get the crispiness you like on your crust. You can use a pizza pan, a stone. Or, if you did like me and precooked that crust, you can cook it right on the rack.
- Once it is done, pull it out and place it on a cutting board. Sprinkle some lettuce over it, then tomatoes.
- I like to finish mine by drizzling mayonnaise over it.
